21.11.2023. 14:03
This agreement, which regulates and allows mutual cooperation, will make possible, among other things, the formation of joint investigative teams in the fight against corruption, organised and cross-border crime.
One of the basic roles of the European Public Prosecutor (EPPO) is the protection of the EU financial system, as well as EU funds, whose beneficiary is, among others, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The signing of the agreement is an important step in the EU integration process of our country and is the result of intensive work by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in terms of international cooperation and European integration, as well as of its connections with partner European institutions and law enforcement agencies.
During the signing of the agreement, Chief Prosecutor Kajganić introduced the Chief Prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office with the efforts and activities implemented by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina with partner police agencies and law enforcement institutions in the fight against corruption and organised international crime, and invited Ms Kovesi to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the course of 2024.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
