INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST BIH IDDEEA EMPLOYEE FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF CORRUPTION
10.11.2023. 14:42- Bahrija Čikarić, born in 1974 in Zvornik, who resides in Tuzla and is employed at the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: IDDEEA BiH), and is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina
This accused person is charged, as a BIH IDDEEA employee holding the position of the Head of the Center for Storage, Personalization and Transport of Documents, with acting contrary to the provisions of the Agency’s Rulebook and internal documents, for more than two years, thus committing a criminal offense of corruption.
The indictment alleges that the accused used the luxury all-terrain vehicle VW AMAROK owned by BiH IDDEEA for private purposes and for his own needs, for a period of time longer than two years, which is contrary to the existing rules and regulations, and he entered false information about his trips and the use of the vehicle, wherewith he acquired unlawful material gain to himself.
The accused is charged, as an official person in an institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with acquiring a benefit to himself by taking advantage of his office, thereby committing the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Official Authority, referred to in Article 220, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to, and confirmed by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
