CHIEF PROSECUTOR MEETS WITH DIRECTOR OF SERVICE FOR FOREIGNERS’ AFFAIRS

The meeting discussed current topics pertaining to the work and competence of these law enforcement institutions, especially in the light of combatting organized illegal migrations.
At the meeting, Director Laketa presented the situation with migrant flows in the past few months, during which time the number of migrants in Bosnia and Herzegovina was increased.
In view of the fact that a Section for Organized Crime and Trafficking in Persons exists within the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and works on a large number of cases in this area, Chief Prosecutor Kajganić emphasized the importance of good cooperation between partner institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina in detecting, preventing and prosecuting these types of criminal offences, and he particularly noted the importance of the work of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, which is charge with registering foreign citizens residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with their deportation, if they are residing illegally in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Partnership cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be continued in the period to come.
