SUSPECT VILDAN KLJUČO (1986) FROM MOSTAR, SUSPECTED OF PARTICIPATION IN FOREIGN BATTLEFIELDS, EXTRADITED TO BIH JUDICIARY

Suspect Vildan Ključo from Mostar, born in 1986, was wanted by law enforcement institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina for criminal offences related to terrorism and participation in foreign battlefields. He was previously located in Turkey, after which activities were initiated to bring him to judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There has been an international arrest warrant in place for the suspect, and after arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Court of BiH.
According to available operational information, this suspect has been on the battlefields of Syria and Iraq from 2012, as a member of radical terrorist structures in the former “ISIL”.
The Terrorism Section of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is investigating the aforementioned suspect, who is one of the suspects with the longest period of stay on the battlefields of Syria and Iraq.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH thanks all partner institutions and agencies in BiH and abroad, and partners within the anti-terrorist coalition, for their assistance and cooperation in this case.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
