In the premises of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the leading officials of the two institutions, Milanko Kajganić and Zoran Tegeltija, signed the Memorandum on Operational Cooperation, which will speed up communication and exchange of operational data in cases handled by these law enforcement institutions.

The signing of this document is in accordance with the peer-review recommendations as part of the European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which recommend the strengthening of operational cooperation between institutions that fight against criminal offences in the field of financial crime, tax evasion, economic crime and corruption.

The signing of the Memorandum will allow the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to have quick and direct access to the records kept by the ITA BiH, which is especially important in situations where, in order to protect the interests of the investigation and the case, quick and efficient handling and access to data is required.

The Prosecutor’s Office BiH and the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption handle a large number of cases related to tax evasion, illicit trafficking of excise goods and other criminal offences in this area, and this memorandum, as well as similar agreements with other partners institutions and law enforcement agencies, to become a useful tool in more efficient work and handling of cases.
