THE REMAINS OF ONE PERSON FOUND AT EXHUMATION IN LUKAVAC

During the exhumation, remains were found which, according to operational data, are assumed to belong to the victim of Serbian ethnicity, who disappeared in 1995.
After the exhumation, the DNA samples taken will be forwarded to the ossuary in Banja Luka for further forensic-medical processing and final determination of the identity of the missing person.
A forensic pathologist, a representative of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, workers of the Tuzla Commemorative Centre, as well as police officers of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior – Police Station Lukavac, who secured the site and provided criminal technical support, participated in the exhumation process.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
