04.09.2023. 11:10
Following the investigation, the prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption in charge of the case submitted a custody motion against the suspect Željko Stekić, born in Šabac in 1969, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, who was apprehended within the operation of the RS Ministry of Interior police forces on orders of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • CUSTODY MOTION FOR SUSPECT - CITIZEN OF THE REPUBLIC SERBIA IN THE CASE CODENAMED “RAČA”

The suspect is under investigation because of the existence of a well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offence of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs in violation of Article 195 (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

It is alleged against the suspect are that on 1 September 2023 he was carrying out the international smuggling of the narcotic drug “cocaine” in the amount of 525 grams from the Republic of Serbia to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which he was prevented by members of the Republika Srpska (RS) Ministry of Interior in the area of Zvornik, on which occasion the temporary seizure of this narcotic drug hidden in the compartment of the vehicle driven by the suspect was carried out.

The custody measure was moved for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (a), that is, because of the risk of flight, considering that the suspect is a citizen of the Republic of Serbia and that he does not have a place of residence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and also considering the seriousness of the suspected criminal offence and a prescribed sentence of at least three years in prison.
