CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR TWO PERSONS SUSPECTED OF MONEY COUNTERFEITING
18.07.2023. 12:44
Pre-trial custody was proposed in relation to the suspects Stefan Grujić (1995) and Mihajlo Šnjegota (1995) from Belgrade, citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
These suspects are under investigation and they are charged with bringing false money into circulation as genuine, in such a way that they exchanged EUR 5,000, in denominations of 200 euros each, at a gas station in Banja Luka.
The measure of custody has been proposed for reasons set forth in Article 132, paragraph 1, items a) and b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the risk of flight and the danger that, if at large, the suspects may hinder the investigation and conceal evidence, or influence witnesses or accomplices.
These suspects are charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Counterfeiting of Money, referred to in Article 205, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 29 of the same Code.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
