As part of a two-day visit to the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a group of about 20 prosecutors, including representatives of EUROJUST, as well as liaison and contact point prosecutors with EUROJUST from countries in the region, visited the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić, the prosecutor who is the contact point for cooperation with EUROJUST - Sanja Ljuboje-Romić, prosecutor Ahmed Mešić from the Section for Fight against Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration, as well as other prosecutors and employees, talked with the visitors about all the important aspects from the scope of work and jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, with an emphasis on international cooperation and the fight against organised crime.

 

Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH presented the technical and human resources of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which employs 56 prosecutors, or a total of about 250 employees.

 

During the visit, colleagues engaged within EUROJUST (EU Agency for Cooperation in the Field of Criminal Justice) were shown the building and rooms in which the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is located, and they were acquainted with all essential details, which are important for the efficient work of the Prosecutor’s Office, as well as with the details on international cooperation and participation in regional and international operations in the fight against organised crime, including work on cases with evidence from SKY and Anom applications, in which the aspect of mutual cooperation is extremely important and pronounced.

 

The colleagues from EUROJUST also informed the officials of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH about possible communication and cooperation tools within this EU agency, which strengthen the cooperation of criminal justice institutions.

 

Within the group of prosecutors who visited the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, there were colleagues from Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, as well as EUROJUST officials from EU countries.

 

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has good communication and cooperation with partner institutions within EUROJUST and participates in several joint operations with several countries in the region and the European Union.
