BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND SIPA CARRY OUT OPERATION TO FIGHT INTERNATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Acting upon an order of the prosecutor in charge of the case, SIPA police officers carried out searches and arrests in the area of Gradačac and conducted interrogations of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who are suspected of the criminal offence of International Human Trafficking.
The identified victim was taken care of with the assistance of the NGO sector and she is now in a safe location.
The suspects are charged with the labour exploitation of the victim, as they abused her difficult position and the fact that she was thousands of kilometres away from her home country, pushing her to the limits of endurance by making her work on various jobs, whereas her documents were taken from her and she was denied freedom of movement.
Following the completion of this operation, the traumatized victim was taken care of with the assistance of Witness Support Officers of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and employees of the non-governmental sector who are actively providing support to victims in the fight against human trafficking and illegal migrations.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA and law enforcement agencies will continue documenting the criminal offence and collecting evidence in this case.
