Upon an order issued by the prosecutor in charge of the case, an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes is present at the site of Lješevo in Ilijaš Municipality and coordinates the work of authorised officers participating in the process of exhumation of mortal remains.

At the aforementioned location, incomplete mortal remains of one person were found, and they most likely belong to a victim of Bosniak ethnicity, who disappeared in 1992, in the area of the Municipality of Ilijaš.

This location is an extremely complex area to search, so the process of ground digging is being done in great detail.

The exhumation is attended by a forensic specialist, as well as by the representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Commission on Missing Persons and necessary workers, whereas police officers of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of the Interior are securing the location.

Following the exhumation, the mortal remains will be transferred for further forensic processing and identification of the victim by way of the DNA analysis.

The exhumation at this site will be continued in the period to follow.
