17.05.2023. 12:03
As part of the project, the Eurojust will offer important tools and instruments for EU cross-border judicial cooperation, such as knowledge and means for establishing joint investigative teams, to prosecutors and judges across the Western Balkan countries.
As part of the activity, joint cases will be identified, the resolution of which would be facilitated by improved coordination. For the resolution of these selected cases, Eurojust will provide support and expert advice to enable coordinated simultaneous investigations/prosecutions and the establishment of Joint Investigation Teams (JITs).
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is interested in strengthening regional and international cooperation, because it acts in a large number of cases in which institutional cooperation is realized with partner institutions of neighboring countries and the Western Balkans.
The conference was attended by delegations from the countries of the Western Balkans, partners and representatives of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers and Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union representatives.
