PERSONS ACCUSED OF CORRUPTIVE CRIMINAL OFFENSE ADMITTED GUILT BY AGREEMENT

The accused Nedžad Omerović (1974), Stevan Teletina (1969) and Miroslav Bovan (1964) pleaded guilty to the corrupt offence of Accepting Gifts or other forms of Benefits and Failure to Report a Crime, in presence of a lawyer.

The accused Omerović, as a customs officer of ITA BiH, the accused Bovan, as an employee of the Border Police of BiH (retired in the meantime), together with the accused  Stevan Teletina, are charged with corrupt and illegal behavior during the importation of thoroughbred Arabian horses into BiH, which were imported by the accused  Stevan Teletina, without the necessary documentation foreseen by law and procedures provided for the import of live animals on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

 

 

The accused Nedžad Omerović, who is charged with failure to report a criminal offense, is subject to a fine in the amount of BAM 2,000 and to disciplinary proceedings before the competent bodies of ITA.

 

For the accused Stevan Teletina, charged with the criminal offense of Giving Gifts or other forms of Benefits, a prison sentence of 6 months is foreseen, which will not be carried out unless the accused commits a new criminal offense within the next year, as well as the payment of benefits in the amount of BAM 907 KM in the import procedure the amount for which the BiH budget was damaged.

 

 

 

A prison sentence of 8 months has been proposed for the accused Miroslav Bovan, which will not be carried out unless the accused commits a new criminal offense in the next year and a half. The accused is no longer in service because he is retired.

 

 

 

By signing the agreement, the accused waived their right to a trial and the right to appeal the judgement handed down by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of the agreement.

 

The court proceedings continue against the fourth accused in this case, Milanko Obradović, born in 1963 in Rogatica, a management employee of the customs authorities in the ITA BiH.
