CHIEF PROSECUTOR MILANKO KAJGANIĆ MET WITH THE HIGH DELEGATION OF THE EU DIRECTORATE GENERAL FOR HOME AFFAIRS
21.02.2023. 14:14The meeting was also attended by officials from EURPOL, FRONTEX, the EU institution for combating and preventing illegal migration, police attachés of France and Austria in our country, as well as officials from member states of the European Union and the EU office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The central topics of the meeting were related to the fight against trafficking in persons and illegal migration, as well as other forms of international crime, which harm the rule of law both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the European Union.Chief Prosecutor Kajganić informed the EU officials about the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and partner police and security agencies in the fight against illegal migration, trafficking in persons as well as other related crimes, in which the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH participate, both within the Section for the fight against trafficking in persons and illegal migration in the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, as well as within the Task Force, which includes representatives of law enforcement institutions and agencies, from the state level, both entities and Brčko District of BiH.
The Chief Prosecutor Kajganić also highlighted the activities of international cooperation and participation of prosecutors of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office in large number of international operations together with institutions and agencies from EU countries especially in the field of fight against organized international crime.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
