  • EMPLOYEE OF THE VETERINARY OFFICE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY FOR CORRUPTION

The suspect, Mladenko Andrić, born in Konjic in 1964, living in Brčko, was deprived of liberty in the area of Orašje and will be handed over to the assigned prosecutor, within the legal term, who will question the suspect and make a decision on further activities.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and SIPA are conducting an investigation related to corrupt criminal offences, and evidence has been collected that the suspect, in his capacity as a veterinary inspector and an authorized official on duty at the border crossing, accepted a gift in money in order to enable a truck to cross the border without the necessary detailed controls that are prescribed and thus enabled the traffic of foodstuff of animal origin, which require permits and certificates. Supervision of said traffic is carried out by the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The suspect was deprived of liberty after accepting the gift, and the marked money was found and seized.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH calls upon citizens to report corrupt and illegal behavior of authorized officials in the institutions to institutions and law enforcement agencies, for the purpose of criminal prosecution and removal of persons who abuse their office and authority in institutions and agencies of BiH.
