THE PROSECUTOR”S OFFICE APPEALED THE DECISION NOT TO REMAND SUSPECT LUČIĆ MILOŠ (1986) IN CUSTODY
12.12.2022. 08:06The BiH Prosecutors Office believes that releasing the suspect to house arrest has already harmed the investigation of the BiH Prosecutors Office, due to the impossibility of controlling the suspects communications via the Internet, video calls and high-tech resources, as well as through intermediaries or in other ways, with witnesses and suspects in the case.
In addition, this kind of decision contradicts the strategic determination of the institutions to fight corruption and sends a negative message about the efforts of institutions and law enforcement agencies in the prosecution and fight against corruption and abuse of office of those holding the highest positions in governmental institutions in BiH. The special gravity is attributed by the fact that the decision was passed on the International Anti-Corruption Day, and at a time when BiH is expected to receive candidate status in the process of European integration. The appeal of the Prosecutors Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was sent to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the afternoon hours.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
