CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH THE US SPECIAL ENVOY FOR THE WESTERN BALKANS IN WASHINGTON
06.12.2022. 08:56The meeting parties discussed the fight against organized crime and corruption, and it was pointed out that corruption is a key problem in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the fight against these crimes should ensure the strengthening of the rule of law for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chief Prosecutor Kajganić informed Mr. Escobar about the activities that the BiH Prosecutor’s Office carries out in the fight against organized crime and corruption, in which significant cooperation is realized with partner institutions from abroad, including good cooperation with partner institutions from the U.S. Special Envoy Escobar expressed the full support of the U.S.. to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and the process of strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period.This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
