At the meeting, they discussed activities in the processing of cases in the field of copyright violation and protection, which are defined in Chapter XXI of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and are under the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The area of copyright protection is an important segment of the rule of law on the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the same time an area in which perpetrators of criminal offenses can make illegal financial gains through the illegal and illicit distribution of audio and video content, satellite signals, etc.

Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed the participants of the meeting with the activities that are carried out in the processing of cases from this area, and explained how copyright holders can help in the work of the prosecution and law enforcement agencies.

The specifics of this area are that copyright violation, apart from physical form with concrete carriers of printed material, images, sound, software programs, can also take place on the Internet in the digital space, etc. which significantly complicates the work of law enforcement agencies, requires the use of instruments of mutual legal assistance, specialized expertise and other activities.

At the meeting, it was concluded that activities to prevent misuse and copyright infringement will continue in the future.
