MOTION FOR CUSTODY AND PROHIBITIVE MEASURES FOR SUSPECTS IN OPERATIONS

28.09.2022. 15:54
After questioning, the suspect in the case codenamed Storage, who surrendered to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina after months of absconding, the assigned prosecutors will submit a motion to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to remand in custody the suspect Darijo Jekić, born in 1987 in Doboj.
  • MOTION FOR CUSTODY AND PROHIBITIVE MEASURES FOR SUSPECTS IN OPERATIONS

Remand in custody was proposed for the reasons stipulated in Article 132, paragraph 1, points a), b) and c) of the CPC of BiH, i.e. due to the risk of flight, the risk that, if he remains at large, he could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, and exert influence on witnesses or accomplices, as well as that he could repeat the criminal offense or complete an initiated.

The suspect is under investigation and is charged with, inter alia, being a member of an organized criminal group, communicating through the "Sky" application, making arrangements and participating in serious organized crime, illicit international trafficking of large quantities of narcotic drugs marijuana and heroin, as well as placing an explosive device on a facility in the Gradiška area.

After questioning the suspect a Prosecutor in the case code-named Insider will file a motion to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to order prohibiting measures, including house arrest, for the suspect Adis Prašović, born in 1979 in Sarajevo, employed as an inspector in the Sarajevo Canton MoI police.

Given that the commission of the criminal offense was documented by the investigation, and taking into account the testimony given by the suspect in the presence of an attorney, prohibiting measures were proposed to ensure the smooth conduct of the investigation and further proceedings against the suspect.

The suspect is under investigation for corrupt criminal offenses, use of police authority and capacities for illegal delivery of information to persons from the criminal milieu, hence it is necessary to remove him from police structures for the duration of the investigation.

Motions for remand in custody and prohibiting measures will be forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the legal deadline.
