Acting on the order and in coordination with a Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, the police officers of the Sarajevo Canton MoI deprived of liberty a police inspector of the Sarajevo Canton, who is suspected of criminal offenses of Breach of Secrecy of the Proceedings, Accessory after the Fact and Embezzlement in Office.

The police inspector is suspected of providing information and data on police operations and activities to persons from the criminal milieu and suspects of serious organized crime for the purpose of obtaining unlawful property gain.

As part of the work on cases codenamed Rez /Cut/, Nevera /Unfaithful/ and Bumerang /Boomerang/ it was documented in the investigation that the suspect was in contact with several persons who are members of organized crime structures, and that certain activities in cases against leaders of organized crime in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, have been compromised and prevented by his corrupt activities.

 

During the day, the suspect will be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor, who will decide on further activities towards the suspect after the questioning.

 

This activity shows the determination of the Prosecuto’s Office of BiH and the Ministry of Interior of the SC in the fight against corruption and organized crime, especially against persons who abuse their position in the police and police capacities, in order to protect and support organized crime and thereby harm all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
