BY ORDER OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ORGANIZED CRIME AND CORRUPTION DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY
20.09.2022. 10:38A Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina coordinates and leads the activities of the police officers of the Sarajevo Canton MoI aimed at persons suspected of organized crime, illegal trafficking of large quantities of narcotic drugs, as well as corrupt crimes related to the abuse of police capacities in helping members of organized criminal groups.
The activities of the police agencies are aimed at several persons, among whom were persons previously convicted for illegal drug trafficking, and a long-time employee of police agencies SIPA and DCPB BiH was also deprived of liberty due to corrupt practices.
Along with deprivation of liberty, searches are carried out in several locations. Within the scope of the case, significant international cooperation was achieved in gathering evidence about the suspects in this case. Following the deprivation of liberty and police detention, the suspects will be brought to the assigned prosecutor who will question the suspects and make a decision on further activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and partner police agencies.*Note on the principle of presumption of innocence
