The accused is charged with having, on 17 October 2020 at the International border crossing Gradiška while performing the duties and tasks of an authorized official of the Border Police of BiH, acted in his capacity of a police officer tasked with control of persons and vehicles at the exit from BiH and demanded and received a gift to perform an action, which he was obliged to do within the scope of his authority.

The indictment lists that on the specified day, during the control of the travel documents of an Austrian citizen, although well aware that the said persons leaving BiH do not need Covid approvals and certificates he still demanded and received a gift in order to allow them to cross without additional delay at the state border.

The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefits under Article 217, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictment was confirmed by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
