ON ORDERS OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, MEMBERS OF THE RS MINISTRY OF INTERIOR DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY TWO PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ORGANISED CRIME
11.08.2022. 13:27Acting on the orders of a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, police officers of the Department for Organised and Serious Crime of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted searches in the Banja Luka area and deprived Nedeljko Lubura (1975) and Bojan Roguljić (1981) of their freedom.
The persons deprived of their freedom are under investigation and are suspected of having committed the criminal offence of organised crime in conjunction with the criminal offence of smuggling of persons. The authorised officer used his official position to assist the suspects after the criminal offence was committed and abused his office or authority.
Significant international cooperation with EUROPOL was achieved in this case.
The suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor in charge within the legal deadline, who will interview the suspects and make a decision on further activities.
In the coming period, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner police institutions, will focus on the intensive prosecution of high-level corruption cases in which the police capacities and institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina are abused for the commission of criminal offences and the acquisition of unlawful property gain.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
