REMAINS OF AT LEAST ONE MISSING PERSON EXHUMED IN THE AREA OF ZVORNIK
14.07.2022. 09:28An investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office coordinated the process of exhumation and search for the remains of missing persons at the site of Planinčići, Zvornik municipality.
Human remains were found at the site and they will be transported to the Tuzla Commemorative Center for further forensic and medical processing and determination of the person’s identity through DNA analysis. These are the remains of at least one person and further forensic medical analysis will show to how many people the remains belong to.
According to available information, this is most likely a victim of Bosniak ethnicity from the area of Zvornik.
A forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina are taking part in the exhumation, as well as police officers from Police Station Zvornik who are providing police support and securing the location.
