REMAINS OF AT LEAST ONE MISSING PERSON EXHUMED IN THE AREA OF ZVORNIK
14.07.2022. 09:28Human remains were found at the site and they will be transported to the Tuzla Commemorative Center for further forensic and medical processing and determination of the person’s identity through DNA analysis. These are the remains of at least one person and further forensic medical analysis will show to how many people the remains belong to.
According to available information, this is most likely a victim of Bosniak ethnicity from the area of Zvornik.
A forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina are taking part in the exhumation, as well as police officers from Police Station Zvornik who are providing police support and securing the location.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
