DUTY PROSECUTOR COORDINATES SEIZURE OF LARGER AMOUNT OF TOBACCO
12.04.2022. 09:43Having been contacted by members of the Police Department of the Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Ministry of the Interior in Goražde, the duty Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina coordinated the activities related to the seizure of a larger quantity of tobacco, namely 450 kilograms of tobacco that did not have the required documentation or valid stamps, which was found during the control of a vehicle stopped on a highway while coming from the direction of Foča. The duty Prosecutor gave instructions to the police officers regarding the documenting of this criminal offence.
The said tobacco was temporarily seized pursuant to an Order issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a report on the committed criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, referred to in the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be submitted against the perpetrator.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner police institutions and law enforcement agencies, is undertaking intensive activities to fight the illegal tobacco market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is causing great damage to the budget and to all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
