This identification is being conducted in the presence of the victims’ families.

The DNA analysis has been performed on ten victims and identities of the persons whose mortal remains had been found in the middle of the last year at the Dobro Polje site, in the canyon of the river Bistrica, near Kalinovik, have been determined.

The DNA analysis has shown that these are the persons who went missing in the Srebrenica area, in July of 1995, and who were captured and then brought in the vicinity of Kalinovik, where they were killed.

Mortal remains of these persons will be handed over to their families, who will then decide on further activities related to the burial of the remains.

The youngest identified victim was 17 at the time of the killing, whereas and the oldest victim was 58.

The discovery of this location is the result of the joint work of the Special Department for War Crimes and SIPA aimed at finding information and data on possible locations where the remains of the victims from the past war could be found.

The Special Department for War Crimes, together with its partner police agencies, will resume its activities intended to determine all the circumstances surrounding the killing of these persons, with the aim of identifying and prosecuting the perpetrators of this crime.
