The ceremonial handover of the building was carried out and the building was opened by the Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH - Milanko Kajganić and the Minister of Justice of BiH - Josip Grubeša.

About 2 months ago, the Acting Chief Prosecutor Kajganić gave instructions to complete the necessary technical acceptance procedures and commence the relocation of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH into the adapted building within the Complex of Judicial Institutions of BiH, after which this process was successfully completed for the most part.

The premises in which the prosecutors, legal officers, professional and administrative staff are now housed meet the demanding requirements in the field of technical and IT equipment, as well as the prescribed security and technical standards required for efficient work on prosecutorial cases.

The facilities have premises envisaged for adequate storage and archiving of documents, space adapted and accessible to persons with disabilities, corridors and premises linked with the new building, as well as all necessary technical solutions for the functioning of the judicial institution.

In this way, and following the move into the new building in 2018, all the capacities of the Prosecutor’s Office will function in adequate working space. The previous premises will be vacated and given to the Court of BiH and the HJPC BiH.

Reconstruction and adaptation of the building was mostly done with the funds of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hence we thank the Ministry of Justice of BiH and all the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which helped solve the long-standing issue of accommodating the Office, the difficulty that the institution faced from its very inception 19 years ago.

We would like to say to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina that about 250 employees of this institution continue to work intensively on strengthening the rule of law and safety of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina by prosecuting perpetrators of the most serious crimes under our jurisdiction while staying on track with BiH’s EU accession path.
