BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH POLICE OPERATION CODENAMED “CORRIDOR” IS BEING CONDUCTED
08.12.2021. 10:33 Acting on the order of the Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, BiH Border Police officers searched several locations used by eight suspects in several cities - Bijeljina, Brčko, Ugljevik and Doboj, due to suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of Organizing a Group or Association for Smuggling or Distribution of Goods on Which Duties Were Not Paid under Article 215 and the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods under Article 214 of the CC BiH.
The activities are carried out as part of an extensive investigation aimed at proving illegal activities in which the suspects, in the period from August to early December this year, acting as members of an organized group, participated in smuggling textiles and cigarettes of high market value, which did not go through customs procedure, from Serbia and Montenegro to BiH and then further distributed in the territory of BiH, thus causing damages the budget of BiH.
As activities are ongoing, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH cannot provide more information or details at this time.
