BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH EXTENSIVE OPERATION IS BEING IMPLEMENTED IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ORGANIZED CRIME IN THE AREA OF BANJA LUKA AND GRADIŠKA
08.12.2021. 09:15Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption coordinates the activities of police officers from SIPA, RS MoI and Sarajevo Canton MoI, who are conducting large-scale arrests and searches of more than 20 suspects.
The investigation relates to criminal offenses of organized crime and illicit drug trafficking, with international elements in conjunction with other criminal offenses. In this case cooperation was established with the structures of Europol and the EU.
The organized crime group is suspected of international trafficking of narcotics and weapons for a long time where members of the group operated in several countries and communicated via protected applications. Narcotics were most often smuggled from Albania and Montenegro to BiH and further towards EU countries to Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary and Germany.The operation is the result of a long investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, partner police agencies and law enforcement institutions from BiH, countries in the region and the EU, with the aim of detecting and prosecuting members of organized drug crime groups operating in Banja Luka, Gradiška and other BiH towns
