CUSTODY MOTION FOR 6 PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ORGANIZED INTERNATIONAL CRIME AND ILLEGAL DRUG TRAFFICKING
17.11.2021. 09:28After questioning the suspects, the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will send a motion to the Court of BiH to order custody for 6 persons, deprived of liberty in the operation code-named "Transporter".
Custody measures will be proposed due to risk of flight and the risk that, while at large, the suspects could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as repeat the crime or complete the initiated one.
The suspects, who are deprived of their liberty, are under investigation and are charged with committing international smuggling and illicit drug trafficking for a long period of time, both from the Western Balkans to EU countries and from EU countries to BiH and countries in the region.According to the evidence gathered, the suspects are linked to organized criminal groups operating in the countries of the region, thus disturbing the safety of citizens and the rule of law.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH would like to express its gratitude to Europol for cooperation in this complex operation, as well as partner police and judicial institutions in the countries of the region and police agencies that conducted the operation in both BiH entities, including RS MoI, SIPA, TC MoI and SC MoI.
