27.10.2021. 11:34(Sarajevo, 27 October 2021) - President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) Halil Lagumdžija and Director of the Secretariat of the HJPC BiH Admir Suljagić held an initial meeting with President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ranko Debevec and Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milanko Kajganić.
The meeting was held in a positive atmosphere of good cooperation and mutual respect, and during the course of it priorities in the work of the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, efficient and quality processing of war crimes and organized crime and high-level corruption were discussed. Organization of a joint meeting between the HJPC BiH, the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH was also discussed as a continuation of the meetings held in the first half of the year, which would relate to coordination and cooperation in processing cases before these institutions. Bearing in mind that the focus of public interest is directed at efficient and quality work of judicial institutions at the level of BiH, the President of the HJPC BiH Lagumdžija stressed the need for meetings, such as today, between the HJPC BiH, the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to be held quarterly and if there is an urgent need on a daily basis.This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
