  • EXTENSION OF CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR THREE PERSONS SUSPECTED OF CORRUPTION RELATED TO ADMISSION OF EMPLOYEES TO BIH BORDER POLICE

The Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of the case has put forward a motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to extend custody measure in relation to three suspects, namely Rejhan Raković (1980), Ensar Salčinović (1991) and Kenit Čakić (1994).

Custody has been requested for the reasons described in Article 132, paragraph 1, item b), that is, due to the danger that, if at large, the suspects could hinder the investigation, conceal evidence, and influence witnesses or accessories.

The aforementioned suspects are under investigation for the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit, in conjunction with the criminal offences of Abuse of Office or Official Authority and Accepting Reward or Other Forms of Benefit for Trading in Influence, referred to in the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which pertain to the corrupt behavior and activities during the competition for the admission of employees to the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner institutions and agencies, is undertaking intensive investigative activities in this case.
