The meeting discussed reporting and consideration of joint activities of the Task Force members in overcoming current problems in the field of trafficking in human beings and illegal immigration.

The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, chaired the meeting of the Task Force, which was held through video conference.

The meeting discussed joint activities in the prosecution of criminal offences of trafficking in human beings and smuggling of illegal migrants, and after the presentation of the results of all institutions that attended the meeting, it was concluded that there are positive developments in prosecuting this type of criminal offences, as well as that such cases should also be given priority in work in the future.

The Chief Prosecutor informed the Task Force members that, in accordance with the latest amendments to the Rules of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH established the Department for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings and Illegal Immigration, and that activities had to continue in the future with a view to prosecuting these criminal offences and protecting victims of human trafficking more efficiently.
