BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH MAJOR OPERATION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST AN ORGANIZED GROUP FOR SMUGGLING OF NARCOTIC DRUGS WAS CARRIED OUT
25.07.2021. 17:23 In the area of Velika Kladuša specially made capacities for the cultivation of narcotic drugs were detected and a large quantity of the narcotic drug Marijuana, which was smuggled on the illegal drug market in Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU countries, was seized.
Acting under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, several dozen police officers of the Border Police (Central Investigation Office, Department for Undercover Operations) with the support of the State Investigation and Protection Agency-SIPA and the assistance of the USC MoI carried out the operation in the area of Velike Kladuša seizing large quantities of the narcotic drug marijuana, as well as illegal plantations of this narcotic drug in specially made hidden capacities for cultivation and preparation of narcotic drugs.
During the operation, four persons were arrested on suspicion of committing organized crime and illicit drug trafficking. Significant cooperation during the course of this extensive operation was achieved with partner institutions of the Republic of Croatia. Following the deprivation of liberty, the suspects will be brought and handed over to the assigned prosecutor, within the legal deadline, who will examine the suspects and make a decision on further activities in the case.The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies in BiH, the region and the European Union, is undertaking activities in several cases in the fight against illicit drug trafficking in large quantities
