DUTY PROSECUTOR COORDINATES ACTIVITIES WITH BIH BORDER POLICE DURING DEPRIVATION OF SMUGGLING SUSPECTS OF THEIR FREEDOM
24.06.2021. 09:34The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, in contact and coordination with police officers of the BiH Border Police, coordinated activities to detect and deprive two suspects of their freedom, who are charged with the criminal offences of Smuggling and Organising a Group or Association for Smuggling.
The mentioned persons are known to the police authorities of BiH, and they are suspected of smuggling large quantities of cattle in the general area of Zvornik, using vessels and boats, which were smuggled from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, without going through legally prescribed import procedures and veterinary controls.
On the order of the duty prosecutor, the police officers of the Border Police will prepare a detailed report on the committed criminal offences, which they will submit to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH for further processing.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Border Police of BiH are carrying out a number of activities related to criminal offences committed in the general area of the state border of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
