PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH PROPOSES CUSTODY MEASURE FOR SUSPECTS IN INVESTIGATION INTO DŽENAN MEMIĆ’S DEATH
18.06.2021. 12:31After the suspects had been interviewed, a motion was filed with the Court of BiH to order custody for all four suspects.
The custody measure was proposed, among other things, because of the risk that the suspects might obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as because the release of the suspects would cause public and citizen disturbance.
The prosecutors and the team of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina working on this case are continuing intensive investigative activities in this case together with partner institutions and agencies.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
