CHIEF PROSECUTOR GORDANA TADIĆ PARTICIPATES AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SUPPRESSION OF TRANSNATIONAL ORGANIZED CRIME, HELD IN TURKEY
11.06.2021. 12:03The international conference is organized by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court of Appeals of the Republic of Turkey, under the Republic of Turkey’s South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Chairmanship-in-Office, and it was attended by a delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina consisted of the Chief Prosecutor and Mr. Ćazim Hasanspahić, Head of the Section for Fight against Terrorism.
At the conference, the highest-ranking officials from the prosecutors’ offices and judicial institutions of the South-East European countries presented their work and results in the fight against cross-border and international crime, and the conference was opened by Mr. Bekir Şahin, Chief Public Prosecutor of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Supreme Court of Appeals of the Republic of Turkey.
Chief Prosecutor Tadić gave a presentation during the session titled “Effective Cooperation in the Fight against Transnational Organized Crime”, and she spoke about the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its efforts invested in the fight against cross-border crime, putting an emphasis on international operations in which the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated and which pertained to the fight against transnational crime in the field of counter-terrorism, illicit drug trafficking, human trafficking, smuggling of persons, smuggling of arms and explosives and international financial crime, as well as other cases in which international cooperation was achieved.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is involved in activities related to the strengthening of the rule of law and international cooperation capacities in the fight against cross-border crime, as there are several cases in which cooperation with partner institutions from the South-East European countries was achieved.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
