The meeting of the Task Force for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings and Organized Illegal Immigration was held via video conference, and it was attended by representatives of judicial, police, security and law enforcement agencies from the state level of Bosnia and Herzegovina and from the levels of both entities and the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as by the representatives of international institutions involved in the fight against trafficking in human beings.

The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, chaired the meeting of the Task Force and informed the participants about the activities on the establishment of a separate section within the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, in which prosecutors would work on human trafficking and illegal migration cases, which would significantly assist in more efficient work on cases in this area.

The subject of discussion were also the activities of competent institutions and agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming period, as well as cooperation with international organizations and institutions in this area, and the work and activities that will help improve the status of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this area, in analyses conducted by international bodies and institutions.

Despite the difficult conditions due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the meetings of the Task Force have been held continuously in the past period. Accordingly, this is its fifth meeting held this year, which indicates the commitment and importance of this body’s work in combating human trafficking and organized illegal migrations.
