The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, together with her deputies Milanko Kajganić and Ozrenka Nešković and associates, met with the officials of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office of Montenegro Milivoj Katnić, Chief Special Prosecutor, and Lidija Vukčević, Special Prosecutor, and their associates.

The meeting discussed joint regional co-operation between the Prosecutor’s Offices in prosecuting war crimes cases and serious violations of international humanitarian law, as well as the fight against impunity for war crimes, which is being implemented with the support of the IRMCT Chief Prosecutor, Mr Serge Brammertz.

During the meeting, they discussed about possibilities of transferring cases in which indictments have been filed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the accused are in the territory of Montenegro, as well as about the work on cases in which the suspects are in Montenegro.

Chief Prosecutor Tadić and Chief Special Prosecutor Katnić pointed out that both Prosecutor’s Offices were willing to work together to achieve the rule of law and punish those responsible for war crimes.

Also, the meeting discussed joint cooperation in the fight against organised and cross-border crime, given that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, with partner institutions from Montenegro, conducted several joint operations, especially in the fight against illicit international trafficking in narcotic drugs.

The conclusion from the meeting is that, as before, good cooperation will continue in all segments in the coming period.
