PROPOSAL OF CUSTODY AND PROHIBITION MEASURES FOR PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ORGANISED CRIME AND ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFICKING

12.05.2021. 08:45
The prosecutor working on the case interviewed all nine suspects, after which it was decided that he would request custody for five persons and prohibitive measures for four persons in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH.
  • PROPOSAL OF CUSTODY AND PROHIBITION MEASURES FOR PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ORGANISED CRIME AND ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFICKING

After interviewing the suspects, as part of an extensive investigation in the fight against organised crime and illicit international trafficking of large quantities of hard narcotic drugs, the prosecutor working on the case decided on further activities and will send a proposal to the Court of BiH to order custody and prohibition measures for the suspects.

The custody measures have been proposed for the suspects for whom there is a risk that by being at large they could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, influence witnesses or accomplices, commit a new criminal offence or complete an ongoing one, while prohibitive measures have been proposed for the suspects for whom it was assessed that they are sufficient to ensure the unhindered conducting of the further investigation.

The suspects are under investigation for international smuggling of large quantities of hard narcotic drugs, as well as for hiding, transporting, producing and distributing narcotic drugs on the illegal drug market in the area of Sarajevo and BiH.

The investigation in the case is continuing intensively.
