DUTY PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH TO INTERVIEW A PAKISTANI CITIZEN SUSPECTED OF SMUGGLING A LARGE NUMBER OF MIGRANTS IN TEOČAK AREA
06.05.2021. 10:06The duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH instructed the police to search and collect evidence in documenting this crime, and the suspect, a Pakistani citizen, will be handed over to the duty prosecutor who will interview him and decide on further activities.
The investigation in the case also includes a BiH citizen who was found with a group of migrants.
The found illegal migrants, according to the collected evidence and their statements, came from the territory of Pakistan and will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Service for Foreigners Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After interviewing the suspect for the criminal offence of smuggling of persons, the duty prosecutor will make a decision on further activities in the case.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies, carries out activities related to the prosecution of criminal offences of smuggling of migrants, in cities and areas throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina almost on a daily basis.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
