EXHUMATION PROCESS STARTED IN BOSANSKI ŠAMAC
21.04.2021. 13:21The exhumation process has begun at the Kruškovo Polje site, Bosanski Šamac municipality, and it is being carried out at the site for which there is preliminary information that the remains of one person, a victim from the previous war, could be found at it.
The persons who are at the site are investigators from the Special Department for War Crimes, a forensic pathologist, representatives of the BiH Missing Persons Institute (MPI), representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency-SIPA and police officers of the PS Bosanski Šamac who are securing the site.
Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been participating in the processes of searching for missing persons and exhumations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
