CUSTODY MEASURE PROPOSED FOR TWO PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN OPERATION CODENAMED ‘HUNTER’ /’LOVAC’/

Having questioned the suspects, the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of this case put forward a Motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking the measure of custody to be ordered against two suspects.
  • CUSTODY MEASURE PROPOSED FOR TWO PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN OPERATION CODENAMED ‘HUNTER’ /’LOVAC’/

Custody measure has been proposed in relation to the following suspects:

-          Goran Milošević aka ‘Gogo’, born in 1973 in Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a police officer of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and

-          Svetozar Kašiković aka ‘Sveto’, born in 1983 in Trebinje, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a police officer of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The measure of custody has been proposed in relation to the aforementioned suspects for the reasons stipulated in Article 132, paragraph 1, items b) and c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, due to the existence of a justified fear that, if at large, they might destroy, conceal, alter or falsify evidence or clues important to the criminal proceedings, as well as due to the danger that, by remaining at large, they might repeat the criminal offense.

These suspects are under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and they are suspected of committing criminal offense of Associating for the Purpose of Perpetrating Criminal Offences, in conjunction with the criminal offenses of Smuggling of Goods, Illicit Trade in Excise Products, Abuse of Office or Official Authority, as well as the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit, all stipulated by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The aforementioned persons were deprived of liberty within yesterday’s action codenamed ‘Hunter’, which was aimed at detecting and prosecuting an organized criminal group that has been operating in the area of ​​Bileća and its surroundings for a longer period of time, and the action was carried out on orders of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Based on the results of the investigation, these suspects are charged with taking advantage of their official position, while performing their work tasks during working hours, and enabling other suspects to smuggle excise and other products across the state border, from the Republic of Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues its intensive work on the case.
