During the examination and processing, the remains of human origin have been found so far, which belong to several persons who are presumed to be victims from the previous war, and their precise identity will be determined by the DNA analysis.

The mortal remains will be transported to the premises of the City Cemetery in Travnik, where the forensic processing and identification will continue.

In addition to an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes, the site is attended by the representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute (INO) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), as well as police officers of the Canton 10 Ministry of the Interior.

Identifications and examinations of the found mortal remains are important steps in the process of searching for and identification of missing persons, and in reducing the number of the missing persons who are being searched for.

Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in the processes of exhumations, as well as in the search for and identification of missing persons at locations throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
