CHIEF PROSECUTOR MEETS UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
26.01.2021. 15:59The Chief Prosecutor informed the Ambassador that several activities falling within the competence of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH had already been undertaken, and that it was necessary for the institutions from which international legal assistance had been requested to respond to the request as soon as possible.
The meeting also discussed the prosecution and work on cases related to the participation of BiH citizens on the battlefield in Ukraine.
During the meeting, it was pointed out that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine had signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2008 and that they had had good cooperation so far and that it would continue in the future.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
