MEETING OF TASK FORCE FOR FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND ORGANISED ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION HELD IN PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH
19.01.2021. 17:14The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, chaired the Task Force meeting, which was attended by officials from judicial, police and security institutions from the levels of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both Entities and the Brčko District of BiH, as well as by newly appointed members of the Task Force.
The representatives of the institutions presented information on the work and activities of the institutions and agencies they came from, and the participants at the meeting also discussed joint activities in overcoming current issues in BiH in the field of human trafficking and illegal migration.
It was concluded at the meeting that progress was made in the prosecution of trafficking in human beings at all levels and that activities should continue through the Specialised Network of Prosecutors and Investigators for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings with a view to identifying and prosecuting criminal offences of trafficking in human beings more efficiently and providing support and protection to victims, in particular to vulnerable categories.
The need for continued activities in specialist trainings in this area for investigators, prosecutors and judges working on these cases, was also pointed out.
Given the importance of this topic and the protection of victims of trafficking in human beings in the process of strengthening the rule of law, the meeting was attended by representatives of the international community and organisations operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina and providing significant support in this area.
