INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ENCOURAGING TERRORIST ACTIVITIES IN PUBLIC
23.12.2020. 14:14A Prosecutor from the Section for Terrorism has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- Toni Bašić, born in 2000 in Sarajevo, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with encouraging other persons to commit the criminal offence of Terrorism, referred to in Article 201 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by sending threats and messages of anti-Semitic content, as well as statements and threats calling for attacks on racist and ethnic grounds and threats to members of the LGBT movement, and by calling for terrorist attacks on buildings in New York area, in the United States of America, all of which he did via Internet and social networks, on several occasions during 2020.
The Accused is charged with publicly sending out messages to the public through the media, with the aim of encouraging other persons to perpetrate the criminal offence of Terrorism, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Encouraging Terrorist Activities in Public, referred to in Article 202a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in connection with the criminal offence of Terrorism, referred to in Article 201 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
