INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST SENIOR INSPECTOR OF BIH BORDER POLICE FOR CRIME OF CORRUPTION
23.12.2020. 13:46A Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following person:
- Senad Samardžić aka ‘Kićo’, born in 1973, employed as a Senior Inspector with the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Accused is charged that, in mid-2020, using his capacity of a police officer - Senior Inspector of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and his position and influence based on friendly relations with other members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he received a gift in the form of money in order to unlawfully intercede and urge that the passenger motor vehicle, which had previously been confiscated as part of official actions in a case conducted by the Velika Kladuša Unit of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, be returned to a person from the area of Bosanska Krupa.
The Accused is charged that, while exercising his influence to return the vehicle, he personally came to the house of the aforementioned person, where he received a sum of money as a reward for his unlawful interceding.
The Accused is charged with interceding, by using his official and social position and position of influence, that an official person in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina perform official actions, as well as with demanding and receiving benefit for himself, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Accepting Reward or Other Forms of Benefit for Trading in Influence, referred to in Article 219, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
