CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR SEVEN SUSPECTS OF WAR CRIME COMMITTED IN ZVORNIK AREA
17.12.2020. 14:55The measure of custody has been proposed for reasons as stipulated in Article 132, item b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the danger that, if at large, the suspects might hinder the inquiry, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accessories.
The aforementioned suspects are charged with the criminal offences of War Crime against Civilian Population, referred to in Article 142, and War Crime against Prisoners of War, referred to in Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
The motion for custody has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
