INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR SMUGGLING OF TEXTILE GOODS
10.12.2020. 08:541. Srđan Rankić, born in 1982 in Bijeljina, with prior convictions, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia,
2. Zoran Tomić, born in 1987 in Bijeljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
3. Mišo Rosić, born in 1976 in Bijeljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
4. Vaso Dragojlović, born in 1996 in Bijeljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and
5. Aleksandar Stanojlović, born in 1996 in Bijeljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aforementioned accused persons are charged that, together with an organizer from the Republic of Serbia, in the period from September to December 2018, as members of a group with precisely defined roles which was organized for smuggling textile goods through the customs line from the Republic of Serbia across the Drina River to Bosnia and Herzegovina, they took over the goods on several occasions, in accordance with previous agreement and avoiding the measures of customs control.
After an illegal import of a larger quantity of textile goods into Bosnia and Herzegovina for which legally prescribed duties had not been payed, the said goods were transported and delivered to market traders and then sold as retail goods.
The aforementioned accused persons are charged with the commission of the criminal offence of Associating for the Purpose of Perpetrating Criminal Offences, referred to in Article 249, in conjunction with the criminal offence of Smuggling, referred to in Article 214 and in conjunction with Article 54 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
